State-run harbour of refuge in the centre of East Tawas on the north-west shore of Tawas Bay, Lake Huron, Michigan.

Approach and anchoring
Approach from Tawas Bay, leaving Tawas Point and its lighthouse to the south-east. The harbour entrance is buoyed and lit, with the breakwater protecting the basin from north-easterly weather. VHF 9 for the harbour office. The harbour is open from early May to late September.
Practical
136 berths in total, of which around 56 to 80 are kept for transients depending on the season. Vessels up to 36 metres. Water, 30 and 50 amp shore power, petrol and diesel, pump-out, showers, laundry and Wi-Fi. Downtown East Tawas shops and restaurants are across the street.
Ashore
The 22 km Tawas Bay paved trail runs along the lakeshore from the harbour, north to Tawas Point State Park and south to Alabaster. Tawas Point Lighthouse, built in 1876, stands at the tip of the peninsula 6 km away. Sandy bay beach next to the harbour.
