Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach across Gardiner's Bay, sheltered from the open Atlantic by the Napeague isthmus. The marina is private and berths are reserved for members and reciprocal-club visitors. Contact the club ahead of arrival; there are no transient walk-up berths.
Practical
Small private marina with member berths and dinghy moorings. Full dining service in high summer and a reduced schedule in the shoulder months. The club runs May to October only.
Ashore
Napeague State Park borders the club, with dune walking trails and ocean beach access a short distance south across the isthmus. Amagansett village shops and the railway station are about 5 km west.
History
The club began in 1908 as the Gardiner's Bay Boat Club and was incorporated in 1916. It has run a junior sailing programme since 1934, training children aged 5 to 16 in Sonars, Lasers and Sunfish.
Story
The club's 4th of July fireworks display over Gardiner's Bay has run every year since 1947.
