Approach and anchoring
Enter Three Mile Harbor from the south side of Gardiner's Bay. The buoyed channel holds 8 feet on its east side as far as Maidstone Park, then 6 feet to the head of the harbour; tidal current runs about 3 knots in the entrance. Transient boats are received between 0800 and 1700 in season. Call on VHF 9 once in the channel.
Practical
Bulkhead berths with floating finger piers. The clubhouse has heads, showers and laundry, plus a picnic area with grills. Every customer has a parking space directly behind the boat. A gas and diesel fuel dock, two chandleries and a waterside restaurant serve the harbour.
Ashore
East Hampton and Amagansett villages, with shops, museums and ocean beaches, lie about 3 miles south of the harbour.
