Guide
Approach and anchoring
Reached from Hampton Roads up the Hampton River, sheltered well inside the bay. Deep-water berths are available; the marina takes vessels up to 100 feet with a 30-foot beam.
Practical
60 berths, of which a handful are kept for visiting boats, with 30 and 50 amp shore power, water, heads and showers. Berth holders use the pool at the adjacent Crowne Plaza hotel. Hampton Yacht Club lies just to the south, with Bluewater Yachting Center a little beyond.
Ashore
Downtown Hampton is at the doorstep. The Virginia Air and Space Science Center, the Hampton History Museum and a hand-carved 1920 carousel are within a short walk, along with restaurants on the waterfront.
History
Hampton, settled in 1610, is among the oldest continuously occupied English-speaking towns in the United States. The marina takes its name from the customs house that handled trade on the Hampton River.
