Approach and anchoring
Reached from the Cooper River side of the Charleston peninsula, north of the Battery. Strong tidal currents in the harbour, especially on the ebb. Berthing is reserved for members and reciprocal club guests.
Practical
Wet berths along the club pontoons. Facilities reserved for members and accredited visiting yachts from reciprocal clubs. Contact the club office in advance for any reciprocal request.
History
Founded by a group of Charleston sailors in 1883 and one of the oldest yacht clubs in the United States. The clubhouse at 50 East Bay Street has hosted regattas on the harbour for over 140 years.
