Approach and anchoring
The Canal de l'Est, now known as the Canal des Vosges on its southern branch, links the Moselle at Neuves-Maisons to the Saône at Corre. Locks operate under VNF schedule, generally 9h to 18h in season with a midday break. Air draught and beam are limited by the 38.5 m x 5.05 m Freycinet gauge.
Practical
No anchoring permitted in the fairway. Tie up at the designated halts only. Nomexy pontoon lies 3 NM to the north, and the waiting quay just before lock No. 9 is 3.8 NM to the south. Water and electricity at some VNF halts, no fuel berth on this reach.
