Guide

Approach and anchoring

Enter straight from the west. Bottom is Posidonia seagrass throughout, so use one of the park ecological mooring buoys when available rather than dropping anchor. Sheltered from E and NE; open to W, SW and S. A westerly swell rolls in quickly and makes the anchorage untenable.

Practical

No services. Île du Levant is a military zone over most of its area; landing is allowed only at Héliopolis. Refuge at L'Ayguade du Levant 1 nm to the E, or Port-Cros harbour 1.4 nm to the W.

Ashore

The western slopes of the island belong to the navy training ground and are closed to the public. Walking access is limited to the Héliopolis naturist village on the east side, reached from the L'Ayguade jetty.
