Approach and anchoring
Approach from the ICW close to red day marker 90. Shoaling reported on either side of the channel through Topsail Sound, follow the markers carefully. Service docks are short-stay only and not a marina for overnight transient use.
Practical
Boatyard for haul-out, refit and full service work on sport-fishing yachts of Carolina hull build. Shore power at 15, 30 and 50 amp, fresh water on the docks. Pet-friendly. Labour rate around 115 USD per hour, pressure wash by foot. Yard office at 405 Lewis Road, Hampstead.
History
Founded by Donnie Caison around the build of a 37 ft Carolina-style sport fisher, the yard now produces and refits cold-moulded wooden hulls in the regional offshore-fishing tradition.
