Approach and anchoring
Enter from the Potomac River and follow the channel up Breton Bay. The lower bay carries good depth, the upper reaches shoal towards the marsh delta off McIntosh Run, so sound your way in. The anchorage lies off the wooded southern shoreline of the bay.
Practical
Combs Creek Marina lies 1.4 nm to the north-west and Cather Marine 4.1 nm to the west for fuel and repairs. Leonardtown Wharf at the head of the bay has free public tie-ups and a kayak launch.
Ashore
Leonardtown Wharf Park sits at the head of the bay, with a short walk up the hill to the town square of Leonardtown, where shops and restaurants are within about 600 m of the water.
