Private members' yacht club on the east side of Budd Inlet, just south of the Fourth Avenue bridge in downtown Olympia, Washington.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Reach the club from south Puget Sound by heading south down Budd Inlet, the southernmost reach of the Sound. The clubhouse and moorage sit at the head of the inlet, in front of the State Capitol.
Practical
Member moorage with reciprocal privileges for visiting clubs. Fuel berth, heads, showers and clubhouse. The mock lighthouse on the clubhouse dates from 1930.
Ashore
Percival Landing boardwalk and the Saturday Farmers Market are 300 m north. The Washington State Capitol campus is 1 km south on a signposted walk through Heritage Park.
History
The club was organised in 1889 as the Olympia Motor Boat Club, incorporated in 1904, and has occupied this site east of the Fourth Avenue bridge since 1915. It is one of the original fourteen yacht clubs of Puget Sound. Present clubhouse built in 1957.
