Guide
Approach and anchoring
Enter the Aven from the sea at Port-Manec'h, 0.5 NM south. The ria is navigable at all tides for most keelboats up to Rosbras. Keep to the channel, banks dry on spring lows. Currents run with the tide, noticeable on the ebb.
Practical
Visitor buoys are managed by the SNSM at Port-Manec'h. Forain anchoring in the ria on mud. Rosbras has a small pontoon 0.7 NM upriver.
Ashore
Pont-Aven sits further up the river. The town has kept the painters' trail associated with Paul Gauguin and the School of Pont-Aven of the late 19th century. Coastal footpath GR 34 follows the ria banks.
