Guide
Approach and anchoring
Reached from the Potomac River by working into Aquia Creek. The river is tidal, with a modest range, so check depths against low water. Holding is on sand. The creek is well enclosed and sheltered from every direction, which makes it a sound choice for an unsettled forecast.
Practical
No facilities at the anchorage. Aquia Marina lies about 4.4 nautical miles west and Hope Springs Marina about 4.6 nautical miles west, the latter a full-service yard with petrol, diesel, a pump-out, a chandlery and a public boat ramp.
