Guide
Approach and anchoring
Sand bottom with fair holding. The spot is open to the north and gives shelter from the E round to the W. Shoals and sandbars are widespread near the bay edges, so watch the depth on the approach.
Practical
Overnight anchoring is banned in the narrow state waters between the Venetian Islands since 2016, so this is a day stop only. Anchor between 30 minutes after sunset and 30 minutes before sunrise is prohibited. Marinas lie within half a mile to the south and south-west for fuel and provisions.
Ashore
Miami Beach is a short tender run to the east and Downtown Miami sits across the bay to the west, both with full shops and transport.
