Approach and anchoring
The marina sits on Bird Key between downtown Sarasota and St Armands, with Sarasota Bay opening directly off the basin and Big Pass giving the route out to the Gulf of Mexico. Sarasota Yacht Club lies 0.4 nm to the west.
Practical
42 berths for dockage and long-term storage. Shore power, fresh water and pump-out at the berths, plus a 24-hour locker room with showers. Use of the marina is reserved to members and reciprocal-club guests. Phone 941 953 4455.
History
Bird Key Yacht Club was established in 1960 on land developed from a former bay island, part of the Bird Key residential development laid out at the start of that decade.
