Approach and anchoring

Enter Yaquina Bay between the jetties under the Yaquina Bay Bridge. The bar can be rough on ebb against westerly swell; contact USCG Station Yaquina Bay on VHF 16 for bar conditions. Basin lies just east of the bridge on the north shore.

Practical

Limited transient berthing alongside commercial fishing docks. Fuel, water and pump-out available at the Port of Newport facilities adjacent on Bay Boulevard. Yaquina Bay Yacht Club next door to the east.

Ashore

Newport Historic Bayfront on the doorstep with seafood markets, fish processors and Port Dock One where male California sea lions haul out year-round. Oregon Coast Aquarium across the bridge in South Beach, about 1.5 miles by road.
