Guide
Approach and anchoring
Baileys Harbor opens to the east off Lake Michigan and is the only natural harbour on the county's lake shore. Range lights, built 1869, mark the entrance past the reefs and shallows. Berths take vessels up to 40 feet.
Practical
11 transient berths in slip sizes from 25 to 40 feet, bookable from 15 April. Electricity and water at each slip, showers, toilets, laundry, pump-out and a fuel station with petrol and diesel. Harbour master on 920-854-9292.
Ashore
The Ridges Sanctuary, a 1937 nature reserve protecting the range lights and the boreal flora behind the harbour, lies just north of the village. Cana Island Lighthouse, built 1869, stands about 6 miles north and is reached across a stone causeway.
