Municipal dock in Eagle Harbor at Ephraim, Door County, Wisconsin, on the Green Bay side of the peninsula.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Eagle Harbor opens to the south-west off Green Bay and gives good shelter except from southerly winds. Anderson Dock sits on the north shore by the red 1858 warehouse. Transient berths are wall tie-ups along the dock. The village also maintains a large mooring buoy field in the harbour. Contact the harbour master's office on 920-854-5501.
Practical
Berths are seasonal or transient, with transient stays limited to 14 days. Water and shore power on the wall. Ephraim is a dry village, so no alcohol is sold ashore. Shops and restaurants line Highway 42 within walking distance.
Ashore
The red dock warehouse, built 1858, is covered in painted boat names left by visiting crews and now houses the Hardy Gallery. Ephraim's beach and village centre are a short walk along Water Street.
History
Norwegian immigrant brothers Aslag and Halvor Anderson built the dock in 1858 as a steamship landing and general store. It served as the area's transport hub through the steamship era into the 1920s. The village took ownership in 1952 and the site joined the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.
