Approach and anchoring
Approach from the N or W across the gulf with no off-lying dangers. The field is exposed to W and NW winds and to the swell they push into the gulf. Bottom of sand, rock and Posidonia; the buoys avoid anchor damage to the seagrass meadow.
Practical
Mooring on buoys only, 10 berths. No water, fuel or shore landing on the cove itself. Port Tino Rossi in Ajaccio sits 4.5 NM to the N for full services and provisioning.
Ashore
Porticcio beach and its shops are a short dinghy hop around the point. The Tour de Capitello, a Genoese tower built in 1586, stands on the opposite shore of the gulf and is visible from the anchorage.
