Access from the Loire via the Maine, which links the Loire at Bouchemaine to Angers over 8 km. No tidal constraint above the confluence. Keep to the marked channel and mind commercial passenger boats working the quai. Speed limit applies in the urban reach.

Around 20 berths alongside. Water and electricity on the pontoon when open in season. City centre shops and supermarkets within 500 m on the right bank. Rail station Angers Saint-Laud about 1.5 km.

History
Angers grew around the fortress built by Saint Louis between 1230 and 1240, seat of the counts then dukes of Anjou. The city held the court of King Rene in the 15th century and commissioned the Apocalypse Tapestry woven from 1375.
