Guide
Approach and anchoring
Lies on the Intracoastal Waterway near mile marker 472 on the Stono River. The bottom is sand and mud. Holding favours wind from the west and the anchorage is open to other quarters. The tidal stream runs hard here, so weigh and set anchor near slack water.
Practical
St Johns Yacht Harbor lies alongside with fresh water, a harbour store, showers and laundry, plus a fuel berth with diesel and non-ethanol petrol. Wapoo Cut Ramp sits 2 miles east and Ripley Light Marina 2.7 miles to the north-east. Downtown Charleston is about 10 minutes by car.
