Guide
Approach and anchoring
Enter from Narragansett Bay just north of Quonset Point. The harbour is naturally enclosed and gives good protection in most weather. A public launch ramp sits inside the marina alongside the visitor berths.
Practical
Around 124 berths and 82 moorings, with a small number kept for transient boats: roughly 2 transient berths and 3 transient moorings. There is a launch dock and a picnic area. The marina closes from mid-December to March. Now part of the Safe Harbor network.
History
Allen Harbor lies in the northeast corner of the former Quonset-Davisville Naval Air Station, a major US Navy base through the Second World War and the Cold War before its closure.
