Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach via the goulet de Brest then the rade, staying clear of the commercial channel. Mud bottom with good holding. Full shelter from surrounding shores. A mooring field and yellow marker buoys occupy the anchorage; drop the hook just west of the buoys, where the mud holds well and shelter stays good even in a southerly gale.
Practical
Forain anchorage with no services. Brest Moulin Blanc marina lies 3 nm W for fuel, water and full amenities; the Brest kayak Santé base sits 3.1 nm W. There is no easy dinghy landing near the anchorage, and Landerneau is a long row up the Elorn; café La Cale is a place to eat ashore.
