Guide
Approach and anchoring
In 2025 boats could still anchor outside the buoys in 10 to 12 m, with no shelter. Anchoring in 12 m calls for plenty of chain. In August 2022 the coves of Seno di Pagana and San Michele were closed to anchoring in season. One boat then lay in 8 to 10 m over weed below the villa beside the Excelsior Palace. Southerlies above 15 kn can make it bumpy. In August 2022 passing traffic and swell stirred the basin from early morning.
Practical
A dinghy can be landed near the crane in the marina. Rapallo is within walking distance, with restaurants and shops better stocked than those of Santa Margherita Ligure.
