Roadstead of Rapallo, in the Gulf of Tigullio on the eastern Ligurian Riviera. Anchoring is prohibited in the bay: use the marina or the mooring buoys. Sand bottom, open to the south-east.

Approach and anchoring
Port officers told an anchored yacht in August 2023 that anchoring was forbidden. A new ordinance banned anchoring in the roadstead in 2024, yet a yacht lay at anchor for five days in April 2025. The bay is open to E, S and SE. A ferry crossed it from 8 am to 6 pm in 2022. The harbour, closed for rebuilding in 2021 and 2022, was accessible again in August 2024. A large buoy field for small boats lies in the bay.
Practical
A dinghy pontoon lies close to the town centre. Leaving a dinghy was difficult in August 2024. Shops, grocers and restaurants are a short walk from the waterfront.
Ashore
A funicular climbs to the Montallegro sanctuary. The anchorage lies close to the Castello.
