Approach and anchoring
Approach from the Pertuis d'Antioche, rounding the Chassiron lighthouse, then a buoyed channel into the outer harbour. The entrance crosses a sill and is tide-dependent, not open at all states; most boats pass about 2 hours either side of high water, and a gauge to the left of the entrance shows the level over the sill. Max draught 2.4 m at the pontoons. VHF channel 9.
Practical
730 berths on pontoons, the catway berths on the narrow side. Self-service diesel at the fuel berth, paid by card. Water, electricity, showers, laundry. Free short-term bike hire from the office, though WiFi is weak at the visitor pontoons. Boatyard with travel-lift. Shops, bakery and supermarket within 500 m in the village of Saint-Denis, with a daily morning market in July and August.
Ashore
The beach restaurant La Buvette sits on the sand next to the marina. Phare de Chassiron at 2 km, 46 m high, open to the public. Pointe de Chassiron nature site with tidal fishing locks called écluses à poissons, classified historic monuments. Beaches of Chassiron on both sides of the headland within 1.5 km.
