Guide
Approach and anchoring
Enter the Trieux from the Grand Chenal, well buoyed between the Roches Douvres and the Île de Bréhat. Strong tidal streams run in the lower river, up to 4 knots on springs and not always in line with the pontoons, so allow for the set when berthing. Water tower of Lézardrieux serves as a leading mark. Moorings lie upstream of the suspension bridge at Lézardrieux. VHF 9.
Practical
Around 200 moorings on sand managed from Lézardrieux, roughly 21 to 25 euros a night for a buoy, with multihulls sometimes charged a supplement. Water available. A short dinghy row to the marina pontoon gives showers and toilets, a small chandlery by the inner harbour stocks everyday items, and a laundrette stands across the road. Fuel and repairs at Lézardrieux marina 0.2 nm NW. Port Adhoc at 2.1 nm E for deep-water winter berths.
Ashore
Lézardrieux village at 400 m from the pontoons, bakery, grocery, two restaurants and a Friday market. GR34 coastal path follows both banks of the ria. Pontrieux tidal lock upstream opens access to the upper river and the medieval town of Pontrieux at around 7 nm.
History
The Trieux was used by onion sellers from Roscoff and by coasters carrying pit props to Welsh coal mines until the 1930s. The Lézardrieux suspension bridge dates from 1925, replacing an earlier 1840 structure destroyed in 1944.
