Approach and anchoring

The Trieux is entered from the Grande Passe between La Croix lighthouse and Les Heaux de Bréhat. The buoyed channel winds past Roche Donan and the Moulin de la Mer. Strong tidal streams run on the ebb and flood. Best approached near slack water or on a rising tide with good visibility.

Practical

Anchor in mud off the river banks below Lézardrieux, SE of the beach and SW of the green post, where holding is good; if it does not set, move a little further south. Keep to deeper water and clear of the oyster and mussel beds inshore, which uncover around low water, so do not close the shore on a small coefficient. No commercial traffic runs on the Trieux, so boats may lie in the channel on big springs if needed. No services here; Lézardrieux marina lies 0.8 NM NE with diesel, water and a chandlery.

Ashore

Footpath along the right bank towards the suspension bridge of Lézardrieux. Village shops and bakery in Lézardrieux at 0.8 NM. Château de la Roche Jagu, a fifteenth century manor with gardens, sits 3 km upriver on the left bank.
