Sand anchorage on the Ligurian coast near Sanremo, below the hillside village of Poggio. Sheltered from northerly winds, exposed to the south.

Approach and anchoring
Anchor in 5 to 10 m, with good holding on sand. The roadstead is open, and in April 2025 a north-easterly still left a lot of swell. In 2022 it gave limited shelter in a scirocco, though the anchor held. East of the harbour no buoys mark the 300 m line. In 2024 a boat anchored there 200 m off the shore was moved on. An outfall marked on charts lies in the area.
Practical
In May 2025 a dinghy heading for the shore was waved off from the beach. Boats arriving from France fly the Italian courtesy flag. In 2022 a non-EU boat leaving Italy handed in its departure papers at the Guardia Costiera office in Sanremo. The Sanremo transit dock took boats up to 12 m in 2022. A supermarket stands near the Guardia Costiera office.
