Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the west, keeping clear of the rocky headland. There is really only one clear patch of sand, in the centre of the cove in about 5 to 7 metres, with room for a single boat and at best two or three, the rest being Posidonia and rock. Holding on weed is poor, so drop on the sand and dive on the anchor. The Posidonia is protected and a patrol moves boats off it, sometimes twice a day, though small boats staying for the day are tolerated. Open to easterly breezes but well sheltered from the prevailing western quadrant.
Practical
No services. Calvi marina 1.4 NM east for water, diesel and provisioning. Port Eugène Ceccaldi at Calvi 4.8 NM north-east.
Ashore
Revellata lighthouse stands on the headland, built in 1844. The Stareso oceanographic research station operated by the University of Liège occupies the cove just north. Footpaths lead up from the beach to viewpoints over Calvi and its citadel.
