Approach and anchoring
Approach from the south with no off-lying dangers close in, but rocky shoals extend on either side of the cove. Entry is sheltered from N, NE and E winds. Exposed to southerly swell. No lit marks, daylight approach only. Holding on the sand is only average where patches of kelp cover it, so treat it as a short daytime stop in settled easterly weather and keep a watch aboard.
Practical
Anchoring on sand, no mooring buoys, no services. Brigneau harbour 1 NM east, with a drying basin and a few visitor buoys. Port du Bélon 1.7 NM north, up the Bélon river, home to the Bélon flat oyster.
Ashore
GR 34 coastal path runs along the cliffs, linking Brigneau to Merrien and Doëlan to the east. Moëlan-sur-Mer village inland for shops.
