Bay at the mouth of the Liscia river near Palau, northern Sardinia, within sight of the Bonifacio Strait. Sand and weed bottom, sheltered except in NE to E winds.

Approach and anchoring

Room for many boats. Anchor in 5 to 16 m on sand, with posidonia and weed patches where holding is poorer. Depth holds close to the beach, then shoals fast to under 3 m. At the western end, 200 m off the beach, there is 13 to 15 m. A boat held there in 35 kn westerlies on 70 m of chain in 2025. Swell stays out but westerly gusts come through. NE winds can bring a roll. Red buoys mark a kitesurf zone mid-bay.

Practical

In 2026 landing a dinghy on the beach was prohibited. Rubbish bins stand on the beach and in the car park behind the beach hut. 4G signal in 2025. Shopping is difficult. Some shopping can be done at the Porto Pollo market, a 4 km walk along the beach. Kite, windsurf and wingfoil traffic is heavy on windy days.

Ashore

A long beach lines the south of the bay, with a beach bar, a few kiosks and windsurf and wingfoil hire. Music from the beach on one side of the bay ran until the early hours in 2026. Porto Pollo is a 4 km walk along the sand.
