Approach and anchoring

Reached from the étang de Thau, the inland lagoon accessed through the Sète canal system. Shallow waters across most of the lagoon, so stick to the marked channel when approaching. Boats lie alongside Venetian-style mooring piles. Calm conditions inside the lagoon, but strong tramontane gusts from the north-west can kick up a short chop.

Practical

4 berths only, max draught 2.3 m. Berthing is currently free of charge. No water or electricity on the pontoon, and it is open to all, not reserved. Showers at the nearby campsite. Fuel, chandlery and full services at Port Suttel to the north-east, about 0.6 nm away. Quiet at night.

Ashore

Balaruc-les-Bains thermal spa and town centre within 400 m, the leading thermal resort in France by visitor numbers. Restaurants and shellfish stalls lie close by. Thermes O'balia spa about 500 m. Walking path around the peninsula out to Pointe du Barrou, around 2 km.
