Approach and anchoring
Open entrance to the west between two breakwaters marked by red and green lights. Max draught 5 m. Mistral from NW hits the entrance beam-on and raises a steep swell in the approach. VHF 9.
Practical
1200 berths run by the city of Marseille, but the marina is geared to its berth-holders with no real visitor reception; calls by phone and email often go unanswered and crews have been turned away from the reception dock. The fuel berth, diesel and petrol, is the exception, quick with lines. Carènes Services boatyard, a chandlery and a sailmaker are on site. Water and electricity on the pontoons. Bus 19 to the Old Port in 25 minutes; supermarket at 600 m.
Ashore
Pointe Rouge public beach immediately north of the marina. Calanques National Park starts 2 km south at Callelongue, trailhead for the GR 98-51 coastal path. Fish restaurants along Avenue d'Odessa and the beach promenade.
