Approach and anchoring

Approach from seaward in sight of the Île Maïre and the massif de Marseilleveyre, watching for unmarked fishing nets off the point. Drop on sand patches avoiding posidonia, in 4 to 8 metres. Shelter from NE, E, S and SE; the mouillage is open to W and NW winds, notably the mistral. Even in calm a swell tends to run and the current can lie the boat along the shore, while motorboat wash makes it choppy on summer weekends.

Practical

No facilities on the anchorage itself. Port de la Madrague is 0.1 NM west with a small harbour and village services. Port de la Pointe Rouge lies 0.8 NM north-east, with fuel berth, water and full ship chandlery.

Ashore

Sentier du littoral runs from Montredon along the coast into the Parc national des Calanques, reaching Callelongue in about 3 km, starting point of the GR 98-51 to Cassis. Bathing off the anchorage is best avoided after heavy rain, as runoff from a former industrial slag heap on the slope above the beach carries metals into the sea. The Parc national des Calanques was created on 18 April 2012.
