Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the west along the Marseilleveyre coast. The bottom drops off fast, so most boats anchor deep, around 10 to 12 metres, where the sand tends to let go and it pays to veer plenty of chain. A submerged water pipe crosses the bay north to south around 10 to 11 metres, and anchors have fouled it and other debris, so check what comes up with the anchor. Poorly marked fishing nets lie off the cove, so approach with care at night. Shelter from NE, E, SE and S, exposed to the mistral from the W and NW.
Practical
No facilities in the cove. Port des Goudes 0.2 NM E offers limited berthing and a fuel pump. Port de la Madrague de Montredon 1.2 NM NE has visitor space and chandlery.
Ashore
Les Goudes village at 400 m on foot, with fishermen's cabanons, seafood restaurants and a bus link to Marseille centre. Trailhead of the GR 98 toward Callelongue and the calanque de Marseilleveyre 1 km further east.
