Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the south with the Île du Levant visible to the east. Anchor on sand in about 4 to 6 metres in the zone marked by yellow buoys, keeping to one side of the bay as the other side is taken up by mooring buoys, with a white beacon on approach marking the division. Holding on sand is good, clear of the swimmer buoys close inshore. Sheltered from NW through N to W, open to the southerly swell that builds with an onshore breeze and sets the bay rolling.
Practical
Mooring buoys off the beach are run by the port of Le Lavandou, free during the day and charged overnight, up to about 52 euros for the largest. No other services on site. Le Lavandou harbour lies 2.2 NM west with water, diesel and chandlery, Bormes-les-Mimosas marina 2.9 NM SW. A beach club on the sand can run loud music late into the night, and the coast road above the cove adds some noise. Tender landing at the east end of the beach outside the swimming line.
Ashore
Naturist beach of Le Layet runs along the cove, backed by the coastal path GR 51 linking Cavalière to Pramousquier over 2 km. Chez Jo, a restaurant on stilts at the Pointe du Layet with a jetty terrace, will fetch guests by boat if they have no tender. Cavalière village and shops sit 1 km west by the coast road.
