Approach and anchoring
Approach from the south, keeping clear of rocky patches close inshore and of a pipeline running out to the north-west. Mixed sand and rock bottom, hold on sand where possible, and it stays flat in a fresh north-easterly, reported calm even in 25 knots. Watch the tidal range and scattered lobster pots. Shelter from N, NE and E winds, fully open to the west.
Practical
No facilities on the anchorage. Port de Lérat lies 0.6 NM to the east and the harbour of Piriac-sur-Mer 1 NM to the north for supplies and shelter.
Ashore
Piriac-sur-Mer is a 15 to 30 minute walk from the beach, with a fish shop and a Wednesday market. A guinguette-style restaurant stands about 200 m back from the beach, towards the semaphore. In the village, the restaurant La Forge serves wood-fired pizza.
