Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the W along the rocky Pornic coast. Mud bottom gives fair holding, but the inner part of the anse dries at low water, so anchor off in enough depth unless the boat can take the ground. Shelter from NW through E and SW; exposed to S and SE swell. Port de Gourmalon lies 0.1 nm to the S and the old harbour 0.3 nm to the E for backup.
Ashore
Château de Pornic on the headland above the anchorage, medieval core rebuilt under Gilles de Rais in the 15th century, private but visible from the coastal path. Sentier des douaniers GR 34 runs along the cliffs toward the Pointe Saint-Gildas. Shops and seafood restaurants around the old harbour, 0.3 nm E.
