Anchorage off the Pointe de l'Agnonu on the west coast of Corsica, between Porto Pollo and the Golfe d'Ajaccio.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the west in clear weather. The seabed is mostly rock and weed with little sand, the only worthwhile sand lying close in by the small beach and suiting shallow-draught boats. Depths run 5 to 9 m. Drop on the sandy patches between the slabs and dive on the anchor to check the set, as holding varies with the rock. A west swell works in and makes it rolly, so it is better by day than overnight.
Practical
No facilities on site. A buoy field at the nearby Anse de Medea offers a calmer, safer berth in swell. Closest harbours are Porto Pollo 6.3 NM south and Port Tino Rossi in Ajaccio 6.6 NM north. Leave before any shift to the east quadrant.
Ashore
Small beach at the foot of the point, maquis scrub and granite blocks typical of the Sartenais coast. A restaurant sits above its own private beach, but the campsite mini-market has closed, so there are no provisions within walking distance.
