Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the east, no offshore dangers. Anchor on sand in 3 to 7 m, clear water allowing a visual sounding; the bottom shoals quickly towards the shore and is uneven where sand has built up. Sheltered from SW, W and NW winds, fully exposed to E, SE and NE. Even in calm a long swell rolls in at night and eases only at dawn, so it works best as a daytime stop.
Practical
Mooring forain on sand, good holding. No shore facilities beyond two beach restaurants open in summer with SUP rental and wifi. Solenzara harbour 3.6 NM N is the closest fuel and water supply.
Ashore
Cannella is a 1 km sand beach backed by low dunes and maquis, with a campsite behind it and the beach restaurants La Dolce Vita and Le Grand Bleu open in season. Walking track along the coast south towards the Anse de Tarco, 2 km on foot. Fighter jets from the nearby Solenzara airbase often train overhead. Solenzara town and its weekly market are 7 km by road.
