Guide
Approach and anchoring
Open approach from the east with no offshore dangers. Holding on sand in 4 to 8 metres over a bottom that shelves gently. A few free mooring buoys are sometimes laid off the beach. Shelter from NW through SW, open to the eastern sector where the libeccio pushes swell in and passing boats set up a roll. Solenzara 6.6 NM to the north is the nearest all-weather refuge.
Practical
Forain anchorage with no services afloat. Behind the dune are a small supérette and three bars and restaurants open in summer. The supérette takes cash only and prices are steep, so treat it as backup provisioning. Fuel berth, water and visitor berths at Solenzara marina.
Ashore
Sand and pebble beach of about 800 metres backed by maquis. The Tarco river mouth forms a small lagoon used by wading birds. Village of Conca 6 km inland is the southern terminus of the GR 20 long-distance path across Corsica.
