Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the main gulf channel on sight. Holding on sand and mud. Shelter from N through E to SE. Exposed to south-westerlies and to the tidal stream that runs strongly in the gulf. The head of the bay is shallow and dries near the beach, so it suits shoal-draught boats or taking the ground, while deeper-keeled yachts anchor further out. Île d'Arz village 0.8 NM NE, Cale du Beluré 1.7 NM NE.
Practical
A water tap and public toilets sit at the beach, with a picnic table above the sand. No other services at the anchorage, and the nearest shops are in the village 1.2 km inland.
Ashore
Île d'Arz coastal footpath circles the island for about 17 km and passes directly above the beach. Village of Le Bourg with bakery, grocer and passenger ferry to Vannes is 1.2 km inland.
