Approach and anchoring

Approach from the main channel of the Golfe du Morbihan between the Île aux Moines and the Île d'Arz. Strong tidal streams run through the gulf, up to 8 knots on the spring ebb at the narrows of Port-Blanc, so plan entry and exit around slack water; the anse itself lies out of the stream and stays calm. No buoyed channel into the anse, and drying rocks fringe the southern edge. Keep clear of the marine farm boundaries marked on the chart.

Practical

The anse is shallow and best suited to modest draught; anchor on sand in 2 to 5 metres at low water, north-west of the private moorings, and stay around 400 m off the shore to keep water under the keel. Holding is reasonable, but weed and patchy ground near the shore call for checking the set. Shelter from NW, W and SW winds, exposed to the east. In easterly weather move across to Kerners-Bilouris, 1.2 nm SW, or Le Logeo, 1.7 nm S.

Ashore

Land by tender on the beach, or use the floating pontoon, which serves a working boatyard on shore and is reachable by dinghy except near low water. The coastal path around the Île aux Moines passes above the anse and links Le Bourg and the Pointe du Trech. Bakery, small grocery and restaurants in Le Bourg, around 1.5 km on foot.
