Approach and anchoring
Entry from the south between the Pointe de Penvins and the Pointe du Bile, channel marked by buoys. Shifting sandbanks outside, best entered near high water; the entrance dries at low water, though water remains higher up towards Pénerf. A strong tidal stream runs in the river. Holding on sand. Shelter from NE, E, SE and S. Exposed to SW gales entering the bay. VHF 9.
Practical
About 90 moorings in the river, water available, managed by the ADMAD mooring association with contact through admad-penerf.fr; the harbour staff will ferry crews ashore. Port de Pénerf 0.4 NM NE for the village quay, Anse Dibenn 0.1 NM S as an overflow anchorage.
Ashore
Pénerf is an oyster-farming village on the Rivière de Pénerf, with oyster producers selling directly on the quay. Sentier côtier runs north along the estuary towards Le Tour du Parc.
