Approach and anchoring
Sand bottom. Sheltered from N through E to SE, open to the west. The surrounding reefs and seagrass belong to La Cordillera Reef Natural Reserve.
Practical
About 10 mooring buoys, some for visitors, and anchoring permitted on sand. The island is privately owned and most of it is rented to the El Conquistador resort, whose guests arrive by a 12-minute ferry. Palominitos, a near-submerged islet, lies 610 metres to the south.
