Guide
Approach and anchoring
Sand, rock and weed bottom. Sheltered from N through E to SE. Inside La Cordillera Reef Natural Reserve, managed by the DRNA: pick up a DRNA mooring buoy where one is free, otherwise anchor on sand well clear of coral and seagrass.
Practical
Sand beach ashore, no facilities. Around 10,000 recreational boats visit the La Cordillera cays each year, and the Icacos beaches are the most visited of the chain.
History
The cay was once quarried for limestone used by the sugar-cane industry and in construction.
