Approach and anchoring

Approach from the Bay of Cannes, leaving the Pointe de la Croisette to starboard. Entrance marked by port and starboard lights at the breakwater head. Max draught 1,6 m in the basin. VHF 9 is not always answered and no dinghy comes out to help boats berth, so be ready to moor unaided. Exposed to strong south-easterly swell when the marin is up.

Practical

450 berths managed by the Régie municipale des ports de Cannes, with inexpensive rates. Water and electricity on pontoons. A launching slipway with a gentle slope is available. Fuel station nearby at Port Canto, 0,4 nm to the west. Sanitary block with showers, clean but poorly ventilated. Bakery and grocery close by, no butcher. Restaurants and bus line 1 to Cannes centre within 300 m.

Ashore

Plage du Moure Rouge along the breakwater. Boulevard de la Croisette runs west from the port, about 1,5 km to the Palais des Festivals. Îles de Lérins, Sainte-Marguerite and Saint-Honorat, lie 1,5 nm offshore and can be reached by shuttle from the Vieux Port.
