Approach and anchoring
Approach from the north via the bay of Juan-les-Pins, leaving Port Gallice 0.3 NM to the N. Keep clear of the rocky outcrop that gives the mooring its name. Sheltered from N to SE winds, open to W and SW swell. The seabed is sand and Posidonia, so anchoring is now prohibited and mooring is to a buoy only. Buoys are colour and size coded, larger boats lying further out where the swell is felt more and being low and heavy to pick up.
Practical
Buoys managed as a Zone de Mouillages et d'Équipements Légers, free for the first 24 hours; register online at riviera-ports.com via the QR code on the buoy, with boat papers and insurance, and a RIB attendant checks registrations and takes lines. Landing a tender at Port Gallice costs around 8 euros for a few hours, with the small port of Les Olivettes a free alternative. Port Gallice and Port du Croûton lie 0.3 NM to the N for fuel, water and shelter in strong SW winds.
