Approach and anchoring
Enter the lagoon through the Canal des Onglous at the SW tip of Sète, then 4 NM WSW across the étang. Lagoon depths drop quickly outside the marked channel, with about 3 m over sand at the anchorage; watch the draught on the shallow patches. Sheltered from NW, W and SW by the town quays, but exposed to the tramontane from the N and to easterlies across the lagoon. It gets choppy in high season and when the wind rises at night.
Practical
Town quay and Phar'o Port marina 0.5 NM W for water, fuel and provisions. All shops within 300 m of the town harbour.
Ashore
Noilly Prat cellars on quai de la Résistance, 200 m from the town quay, open for tours. Oyster tables of Bouzigues visible to the north. Sentier du Lido to Marseillan Plage, 0.2 NM SW across the neck of sand.
