Guide
Approach and anchoring
Mixed seabed of sand, rock and posidonia, anchor on a clear sand patch in 7 to 10 m, as anchoring on posidonia is forbidden in Corsican waters and patrolled in summer; the weed thins south of the central rock, where the sand is best. An emerging rock stands in the middle of the bay with a 1.8 m shoal off it, and sand-coloured rocks around 7 m hold poorly, so keep well back. Shelter from N through E to SE, exposed to the libeccio from the west; even in shelter the bay rolls by day and night in any westerly swell.
Practical
No services at the marine. Centuri, 0.3 nm north, has a small fishing harbour with water and a few restaurants on the quay. Barcaggio, 3.6 nm NE at the tip of Cap Corse, offers another open anchorage.
Ashore
Land by dinghy on one of the small pebble beaches for Centuri, 300 to 500 m north, with restaurants including Chez Marc and a grocery, though the tender run into the fishing harbour threads carefully between rocks. The hamlet of Morsiglia sits 1.5 km above the coast, with five Genoese towers built from the 16th century to watch for Barbary raiders. The Sentier des Douaniers coastal path links Centuri to Barcaggio along the Cap Corse cliffs.
